responsible engineering
We are a collective of minds driven by a passion for our world.
The built environment is where we spend most of our lives and it has to perform well and be responsible towards the resources.
As building services/MEP/environmental engineers we design the systems that provide air, light and thermal comfort to internal spaces - and we inform the design of the buildings to minimise the energy needed for these systems to operate efficiently.
mstep has a mission to help create comfortable, healthy, efficient environments in which we can breathe, live, work and thrive - and that do not cost the Earth!

We decarbonise existing and future spaces through responsible engineering design from inception to completion.

mstep brings 25 years of delivering very low and zero carbon buildings and places of varying complexities across many sectors and countries.

Using our knowledge, our enthusiasm and the latest technologies, we deliver the future today.

Office Building, London
Lauretta served as the electrical engineer for the concept design of a 21,615 m² office space above the Crossrail tunnel. The electrical design involved liaising with Crossrail, designed to BREEAM rating of Very Good, with aspirations for Excellent. She worked with UKPN and EMC specialists to coordinate incoming services and EMC mitigation.
hope bay houses

Two high specification private residences with an aspiration to provide 21st century living whilst achieving carbon and water neutrality. Systems include ground source heat pumps for underfloor heating and cooling, mechanical ventilation with heat recovery, photovoltaic panels. A rainwater harvesting system and greywater system will offset the water demands for the houses: rainwater collection will be used for irrigation and once filtered as potable water and the greywater system will collect used shower and basin water to be re-used for toilet flushing. Abi is the Mechanical Engineer on the project and has collaborated with the design team to help create a report to present low carbon systems to the clients.
