New River College is a Special Educational Needs school located in former Victorian hospital in Archway. In addition to planned remedial and expansion works to the building, mstep, Genius Energy Lab and NDA Consulting carried out a Decarbonisation Feasibility Study to support funding for provision of further improvements to the envelope, a new BMS system, LED lights throughout and a substantial replacement of the boiler plant with the ground source heat pumps. 

By adopting all proposed decarbonising measures predicted savings would be in excess of 50 % for energy and 75 % for Carbon emissions.
