southwark council are planning to repurpose existing 2,500m2 1930’s primary school into a contemporary SEND Sixth form school facility by upgrading the envelope, reconfiguring the spaces and ensuring the energy performance and emissions of the building are aligned with the Southwark’s 2030 decarbonization plan.

mstep was appointed to carry out the feasibility study and have reviewed several different scenarios to include envelope and system upgrades and replacement of the existing fossil fuel boilers with low zero carbon technologies. we carried out site surveys and thermal modeling and established that the maximum potential carbon emissions savings by implementing all possible interventions would be in excess of 80%, with further emissions reduction achievable by introducing photovoltaic panels.

mstep are currently engaged in delivering the MEP design for the project.

mstep is a registered company. Number 12830070.
