this exclusive villa, situated in malaga, spain, was built in the 1990s. the owner aimed to enhance the building's structure of their holiday home and sought to implement a low-carbon heating and cooling system, particularly addressing the need for cooling due to internal temperatures rising above 38°C during summer.
mstep conducted a thermal modelling analysis of the villa to evaluate the heating and cooling load requirements for the improved building u-values. an air source heat pump (ASHP) with wall-mounted fan coil units was recommended to maintain the comfortable internal temperatures specified by the client.
