richard brings a strong hard working ethic and many years experience to mstep. with over 35 years’ experience as an electrical engineer, richard’s work includes starting at a partnership in Bristol in the late 80’s, working in Hong Kong in the 90’s on several airport related projects, and more recently on World Cup football stadiums and at the United Nations campus in Geneva. 

his impressive portfolio highlights projects across multiple sectors, including offices, schools and university buildings, industrial workshops, hospitals, museums, TV studios, sports stadiums, aviation related and numerous residential projects. 

he is motivated by challenge and is excellent at seeing each new project with fresh eyes. He is a flexible worker with strong project management skills, and enjoys mentoring less experienced peers.

in his own words:

“I feel a great sense of achievement and purpose being involved in the building services industry and being involved on projects which may aid our society. working in mstep I feel I can prioritise sustainable and ecologically aware schemes and solutions.

outside of work I enjoy walking on the South Downs and love to travel in our camper van. I am passionate about modern art, photography and enjoy making bespoke frames for my artist wife, Catherine.

being a child of the 70's I’m still a keen skateboarder. My passion for photography includes collecting vintage cameras and lenses and I occasionally exhibit my work. I love animals and currently enjoy sharing our home with two Norwegian forest cats."
