the apex is an award-winning multi use venue designed to excellent acoustic standards. established in 2012, it features a spacious auditorium that accommodates up to 500 guests, suitable for a wide range of events. additional facilities include dressing rooms, studio areas, and essential back-of-house amenities such as a kitchen and WCs.

in 2010, sasha was the project director responsible for the MEP design. the building is tempered entirely by open loop reversible water to water heat pumps. heating and cooling are delivered through a mixture of radiators, underfloor heating and air handling units. the building's co2 emissions are roughly 72% lower than the operational energy benchmarks established by CIBSE 2008 TM46.

in 2022 mstep were given the opportunity to assess their current MEP systems to enable the apex to achieve further energy and co2 savings. this was developed further to stage 3 and stage 4. a number of upgrades were proposed including the replacement of existing systems with more efficient equivalents as well as upgrading the BMS.
