mstep worked closely with the architect in creating MEP designs for the refurbishment of a mental health facility in Wimbledon. The site consisted of two buildings being used as a physiotherapy centre with three residential units nearby. All the buildings needed to be refurbished and connected, via an extension, to function as a single mental health facility.

The client was keen to put in place energy-efficient systems and improve the building envelope as part of the work so we initially produced three thermal models assessing how various building fabrics would affect heating and cooling energy consumption. Once the fabric was chosen, we produced the MEP design.
